Your Arena Handle, avatar emblem, rating and record, and every submission in a public debate are visible to anyone, including people without an account, and may be indexed by search engines. Your real name is never displayed and is not requested.

An email address for sign-in and notifications; the content you write; and technical records such as timestamps needed to run turn deadlines, judging windows and moderation. Whether you appear as active is off by default and only shown if you turn it on.

To operate debates, deliver notifications you have enabled, enforce the conduct rules, and maintain ratings and results. Legal basis where applicable: [TO BE COMPLETED — legal basis under applicable data protection law]

Debates and studies are kept for as long as the account exists, so that the people in them keep their record of the exchange.

You can delete your account yourself in Settings, or from the account deletion page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your login and email address, your profile details, your uploaded files, your debate turns and study contributions, the debate topics you wrote along with their edit history and any share post repeating them, your private messages, your judging comments, your votes, your reports’ wording, and every machine-generated copy of your text (engagement readings, standing notes, referee flags, AI analysis of debates you were in).

Two things remain, and only these. First, an empty, unnamed placeholder where your writing sat, so that what other people wrote around it still makes sense; it contains none of your words. Second, payment records held by our payment provider, which we do not control. Nothing is retained merely because a debate involved another person; where someone else wrote the words, those words are theirs.
